Zlatan Ibrahimović (Paris 2012–2016)

Recommended Posts

Voikohan tästä päätellä jotain Zlatanin tulevaisuuden osalta?

Eiköhän ruotsalainen vain vetänyt mediaa viiksestä tuossa. Nimittäin...

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC REALLY DOESN’T LIKE LOUIS VAN GAAL
So can we stop with the Zlatan to Manchester rumors now?

Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-interview-Louis-van-G

In an interview with SI Now’s Maggie Gray, Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic described his relationship with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as “not good.”

The Swedish international was critical of van Gaal in his book, I Am Zlatan, and Gray asked the forward about the relationship:

"He [Louis van Gaal] was a director in Ajax, and the way he is working is not the way I work."
—ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC

Later in the interview, Ibrahimovic didn’t go as far as to say he wouldn’t sign with United because of van Gaal but you certainly get the impression that he would rather not have the experience of playing under the Dutchman again.

The full interview is scheduled to be published Friday on SI Now and we will update this post when it’s available.

SHOULD PSG SELL ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC?
Teams line up as the Paris legend claims his future is in the hands of his agent

Time-to-sell-Zlatan-Ibrahimovic--650x276

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: a household name in the world of soccer and a name that carries deep meaning for the fans of Paris Saint-Germain. Through his constant hard work and devotion, Ibrahimovic has established himself as a Paris legend, among greats such as Safet Susic, George Weah, and Pedro Miguel Pauleta. However, as the 2015-16 season approaches, some are beginning to wonder whether age will finally catch up with the 33-year-old striker or not. What can PSG supporters expect of Zlatan heading into the new season? Will he continue being one of the most exciting players in Europe, or will this season commence the decline of a truly legendary player.

For the past three years, Ibrahimovic has been PSG’s star player on both the French and European stage, despite being at an age where many thought he would be out of his prime. With a fantastic scoring record last season, 28 goals in all competitions (only three away from overtaking Pauleta as PSG’s all-time goal scorer), the big Swede continues to prove his value to Paris.

While still impressive, last season was a decline from 2013-14 and Ibrahimovic missed games due to injury and suspension. After finishing the season strong with five goals in the final three games, Ibrahimovic leaves supporters little reason to believe he will not have another magnificent season with Paris Saint-Germain and is likely what’s fueling the constant transfer rumors.

Another important factor that we cannot ignore is Ibrahimovic’s playing style. When analyzing aging players, the primary concern is usually stamina. However, Ibrahimovic plays with a style that relies on positioning and technique rather than aggressively pressuring the defense. In fact, many critics believe that Ibrahimovic’s work rate is a major weakness and he will not be affected too much by losing vigor due to his age. Overall fitness on the other hand may be an issue. As I mentioned before, Ibrahimovic has missed games, nine to be exact, due to injury. Although it did appear to be a minor heel injury, Paris can’t have their star player missing for long stretches during the season.

Although analysis shows that Ibrahimovic still has some years of quality soccer left, there is no doubt he could easily be sold for a large sum of money, which if spent properly could help build an even stronger squad. Thus arises the tough question, is it worth risking that large sum of money for one more year of Ibracadabra magic? An opinion that seems to be getting more and more popular among PSG fans is that it’s better to cash in and sell the Sweden international. It also appears to be an opinion that is being considered by Paris executives, as there have been many reports stating that AC Milan is negotiating with the club to have Ibrahimovic play for them once again. Some reporters out of Italy have even reported that an agreement has been made and the deal is done. Further complicating matter is the news today that Ibrahimovic is leaving his future up to his agent, Mino Raiola, who will likely want his player to move and sign a new contract with another club.

Whether or not Ibrahimovic is being shopped around or not, Paris find themselves in a win-win position. If he is sold, the money can be used to bring in a player like Olympique Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette. If we hold on to him for one more season and he stays healthy, there’s no reason PSG’s biggest star can’t play a major role in what will be a pivotal season for the club.

Loistava haastattelu Zlatanin kanssa. Vitsailee muun muassa olevansa ensimmäinen siirto David Beckhamin tulevaan MLS-seuraan. Muutenkin hyvää juttua, tutusti pilke silmäkulmassa monessa asiassa.

En ole niin hirveän hyvin seurannut, mutta muistaakseni tuosta kirjastahan taisi tulla jo uusi paksumpi versio, johon olisi mahdutettu nämä viimeisimmätkin vuodet? Onhan aika Pariisissa kuitenkin suuri osa Zlatanin urasta.

Itse taidan suosiolla odottaa Zlatanin uran loppuun, ennen kirjan aloittamista ja keskityn klassikkoon nimeltä Stillness and speed: My Story - Dennis Bergkamp.

Otteluita Ibrahimovicilla on Pariisin paidassa 137 kappaletta.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's two sons join PSG's youth academy

Paris Saint-Germain have enrolled Zlatan Ibrahimovic's two sons into their academy set-up, according to reports in France.

9-year-old Maximilian and 7-year-old Vincent have been entered into the club's academy set-up in recent weeks, report French daily Le Parisien.

Ibrahimovic's own contract expires at the end of the season with speculation rife that he could continue his career in MLS.

According to reports, the 34-year-old attended a recent youth match to watch his sons in action and rebuffed fans who asked him for autographs and photos, stating that he was there as "a family man and not a footballer".

Zlatan's children aren't the first famous names to be enrolled in the club's academy system with former defender José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan's son also currently plying his trade at the Saint-German-en-Laye training base.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Fasten seatbelts

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: “For the moment, I will not be at PSG next season.”

In his most frank interview about his future yet, Swedish international and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed details about what Les Parisiens’s fans can expect from him for the rest of the season and whether or not he will still be at the club when the 2016/17 campaign kicks off, speaking in an interview with BeIN Sports. The full interview below.

Ibrahimovic on his future:

“I have always had a good relationship with the supporters. With the club, they always took very good care of me. I have great relationships with everybody. There was no question about it that it was something opposite. So I am happy. For the moment I am not at PSG next year. I have another 1 and a half months. I am enjoying to stay here while I am here so what happens next year I don’t know. But for the moment I am not here…”

Interviewer:

“You say that there are many people who love you [here]… but not enough?”

Ibrahimovic:

“Yes, yes, but it does not mean… I do not believe that they can change the Eiffel [Tower] for my statue so… Even the people behind the club, I don’t believe. But if they can I will stay here, I promise you!”
